193 Grade B8 Class 2 Bolts

193 Grade B8 Class 2 Specification for high tensile bolts, screws, stud bolts, anchor bolts, threaded rods and other externally threaded fasteners, made from 304 stainless steel. ASTM A193 Grade B8 Class 2 is a standard material specification for corrosion resistant austenitic stainless steel fasteners, for use in high tensile, high temperature and special purpose applications such as pressure piping & pressure vessels bolting. Grade B8 Class 2 is a carbide-solution-treated & strain hardened 304 stainless steel with minimum tensile requirement of 125 ksi, yield 100 ksi and maximum hardness of 35 HRC. This specification covers requirements for chemical composition, mechanical properties, hardness, heat-treatment and recommended nuts-washers for Grade B8 Class 2 Fasteners.

The ASTM A193 specification of Grade B8M is a stainless steel material that is highly resistant to corrosion and widely used for making different fasteners. The ASTM A193 Grade B8M Bolts have excellent mechanical properties, such as high tensile strength. Therefore, they are perfect to be used in special applications like pressure piping and bolting the pressure vessel. The ASTM A193 B8M Class 2 Hex Bolts need to be strain hardened, with a minimum tensile strength of 100 ksi and yield strength of 50 ksi. The stainless steel of the given specification can also be carbide treated for enhancing its corrosion resistance properties. The ASTM A193 Grade B8M Stud Bolts are quite similar to the bolts made of Grade 8, of the same specification. However, the difference is that the former is made from 316 stainless steel, whereas the latter is from 304 stainless steel.
